In 2006 Richie hosted the TV show "An Audience with Lionel Richie" and two months later he performed his song "Hello" on the 49th Grammy Awards show. In 2004 Richie appeared on Canadian Idol and performed on the stage. Several more Top 10 hits followed for Richie, including "Hello" in 1984, which included his R&B roots as well as being a sentimental love song. His second album "Can't Slow Down" sold twice that number and won two Grammy Awards. His debut album that launched his career made number three on the music charts and sold over four million copies. During his career he has sold over 100 million records worldwide, which made him one of the best selling artists of all time. Richie went on to make his solo debut album in 1982 called "Lionel Richie" with the number one hit on it called "Truly". He started out in 1968 as a member of the musical group called Commodores, who were signed to Motown Records.
